Oh, this sweet family. Mr. Isaac immediately stole my heart when he was born, partially because he had to spend some time in the NICU, and our first was a NICU baby. There’s something about that time; whatever the length, that both changes you as a family, but also links you to all other NICU families forever. Just a few days before our shoot, Isaac had gotten off of oxygen support, so we got to see his darling face just taking in the world. While he still has quite the journey ahead of him, he also has the most wonderful, supportive family to guide him through.
One year ago, I got to photograph a darling little chub of a baby girl. Now, she’s a walking, giggling, red-headed one-year-old, and oh my goodness am I so glad I got to capture her sweet family again. We were all stoked to photograph this day, because it was supposed to be in the 60s. Unfortunately, the day started out quite foggy and chilly, so we had to incorporate a whole lot of snuggles and “run to the warm car really really quick” sessions. Despite all that, there were plenty of sweet smiles to be had. Happy Belated Birthday, Miss Genevieve! We’re so glad you’re here!
As you have probably realized, everything “Voboril Photography” related has been transformed into all the lovely “Alzbeta Volk Photography” related branding you now see. After being married for nearly seven years, I decided it was time for my business to say good-bye to my beloved maiden name, both for the ease of my clients and because this is truly who I am now.
You will also notice the lack of a wedding gallery at this point. This darling third baby has brought even more to light my need to tighten up my niche while leaving plenty of space in this business to truly thrive, rather than just survive these sweet “little” years with my family. While I have loved the weddings I have photographed over the last 10 years, it is a difficult thing to give up an entire day of the two days we get together as a family, and so, for now, I will not be taking on any weddings. Thank you, thank you, to each and every couple that allowed me the absolute honor of photographing your wedding day. I have been blessed to document that special little bit of your love story, and hope I will get to continue to do so as your families grow and change.
The wonderful upside to me turning everything upside down is that I’ve refreshed the website and galleries and have been able to work with an amazing graphic designer, Amy Frazier, on lovely, fresh, brand-spankin’-new branding. This has, slowly due to pregnancy, been in the works for much of the past year, and I am so thrilled to finally release it into the world. It truly feels like turning the crisp page on a never-opened book, and I can’t wait to see what the next 10 plus years of business bring me (and my wonderful clients!)
Oh, Corbin. You have so much fun ahead of you! A big brother to play and wrestle with, and parents who want you to experience all of the amazing adventure life in our amazing state has to offer. For now, even my short time in your home showed me that you are absolutely cherished. Welcome to the outside world, little guy, I can’t wait to see who you become.
This past year, Sarah and I spent most of it pregnant, and we would often take walks while our older kids took a class together. We looked ahead to Christmas, one of us due on the Eve, and one on the day of, hoping our babies would be here by then but knowing that we were more than likely to be “late”. And lo and behold, both of us mourning our extraordinarily pregnant states, this sweet little guy made his (incredibly fast!) entrance into the world right before the new year. After Miss Mlada finally decided to make her debut and I was a little recovered, we trekked over to meet the newest love of this family and take just a few pictures to remember this sweet time. See, he joined a family with five older brothers and sisters, and oh my, is that house filled with joy and LOVE. His parents delight in every detail of his babyhood; in fact, they delight in all of their children in such a way that I always want to snuggle my own extra long after a visit at their house.
