As you all know, I’m a bit behind on my blogging, so I decided to dig into one of my favorite shoots from last autumn. These two were SO sweet with each other. They worked hard to make each other smile, and were more than willing to snuggle for a photo. They were also getting ready for Halloween only a few days after our shoot, set to be the cutest Beauty and the Beast ever! The beauty of family sessions is getting just a tiny glimpse into their fun, their own silly traditions and sweet moments, and their story. Thank you for sharing with me, Chism family, it was so lovely!
If you want to talk miracles, you are looking one in the face in that darling newborn right there. This little girl has come a long, long way. She was born at 23 weeks, was only 1lb 6oz and 12 inches long, and after 121 days in the NICU, Grace was right where she belonged: home for Christmas. Within seconds of being there, it was obvious she was born into the perfect family for her. There was patient moving of oxygen and other important supplies, and through it all, she snuggled right in, taking in the world around her. This was also not Daniel and Sarah’s first time through the NICU life, their twins were also preemies, and I am amazed at how gracefully they have handled the pressure they were put under. Oh, sweet, amazing, Grace: welcome to the world, welcome home, welcome to a family that loves you more than you shall ever know.
As Atticus rounds on his six month birthday, I figured it was probably time to actually blog his birth. This whole experience was amazing: watching a team who knew exactly what to do, because they’ve done it four times before. Dave was a solid pillar of support, and was always one step ahead with the next thing. By the time we were all at the birth center, Liz was already in transition, and sweet little boy was on his way.
What felt like both forever and a short time later, and a whole lot of work on this amazing mama’s part, sweet Atticus came into the world, tiny, calm, and wide-eyed.
Dear Miss Emma, You darling little lady… you made my job so easy! You curled up, sleepy as could be wherever you were set, whatever you were (or weren’t) wearing and whomever was holding you. You are truly the sweetest a teeny newborn could be. Your big sister was so confident and steady with you! Your big brother was curious and excited. You make the most darling trio of siblings. And your mama? Oh how she loves all three of you! You are one loved little baby.
